Compile the full list of all the medications, food supplements and vitamins you are taking in advance and show it to your prescriber. Don’t conceal smoking or using illegal drugs. Vardenafil may interact with other drugs and either affect the way they work or cause some side effects. The work of Vardenafil can also be affected by other medications.
Vardenafil may also interact with the following drugs (this list may be incomplete, consult with your doctor).
- rifabutin, rifampin, or rifapentine (may neutralize or decrease the effect from Vardenafil)
- some antiarrhythmics (the combination may cause irregular heartbeat)
- some antibiotics (troleandomycin, erythromycin, clarithromycin, sparfloxacin)
- grapefruit or grapefruit juice
- Alpha-blockers taken to treat increased blood pressure or prostate diseases
- medicines for high blood pressure
- medicines for extremely low blood pressure associated with dizziness and loss of consciousness
- Azole antifungals (itraconazole)
- HIV protease inhibitors (eg, indinavir, ritonavir),
- telithromycin or macrolide antibiotics (may increase the probability of side effects)
- some meds for treating depression
